Bill Miller began his 35-year-long career in the exterminating industry in 1976 with Truly Nolen, and his experience expands throughout the south and southwestern regions of the United States. “The thing I enjoy the most about this industry,” he says, “is the variety of people I get to meet and the various pest control challenges they present.”

Bill started Absolute Exterminating Co. in the Summer of 1989 with his wife Vickie, and they have served the pest control needs of the Valley of the Sun ever since. Asked what pests pose the biggest problem for residents of our state, Bill points to termites. “There are several concerns, including scorpions, black widows and termites. Of course, which one is the worst might depend on your perspective,” he laughs, “but I’d say termites are the biggest threat for two reasons: they inevitably destroy the structure of your home, and treating for them can be a highly intrusive procedure. You should have your home checked for termites at least once a year.” Termite control is a unique challenge because devising a strategy for treating them depends on so many variables: location of infestation, how extensive the infestation, the type of foundation of the building, etc. Successful termite treatment requires professionals with proper training and experience to determine an appropriate, aggressive termite treatment strategy.

Scorpions, bees, ants, and black widow spiders are significant concerns as well. “They each have either a venomous and painful sting or bite. Though they rarely result in death, they can be quite painful and have the potential to land you in the emergency room!
